Definition of unbothered
: not feeling or showing agitation, worry, or annoyance
There are countless things that make us feel bothered every day. Some big, some small.
If you look hard enough it can feel nearly continuous at times.
Considering the volume of events that have the potential to bother us it is wise to disallow our subconscious reaction to bothersome events.
Being unbothered means remaining the same person during bad times as you are during good times by not allowing an automatic, subconscious response to all the negativity we encounter every day.
Doing so requires a simple, conscious effort to self-regulate our response mechanism. Take it off auto-pilot and remain conscious of your response to adversity and nuisance.
Having an even, unbothered temperament is empowering and allows us to rise above adversity so we can look down upon it with clarity and conviction.
We can then either fix the problem or better cope with the ones we can’t fix.
We all get to decide our response to things in life. Choose to be unbothered. It is after all a choice.
Onward!
