Why You Need a Powerful Mindset Right Now

It’s not always about what men think….sometimes it’s about what men DON’T think.

Don’t worry, this is not some airy “think happy thoughts” post.

I fully understand the power of positive thinking and I agree it is in fact an element of self-betterment for men but I want to cover something other than positive thoughts today…..I want to talk about fully intentional, BOLD and POWERFUL thinking.

The campy and hip self-improvement crowd touts happy thoughts because they think everyone is running around searching for happiness all the time.

I am sure plenty or men want to be happier but most of the men I know want to be better just as much.

In order to become a better man every day we must refine and hone in our thinking patterns.

No science or big university study required to understand the importance of avoiding lazy and unproductive thinking by focusing on big, powerful, and bold thought patterns.

I have been working on this for some time with tremendous success.

I have trained my brain to, during my earning hours of the day, think boldly and powerfully.

Before I trained my brain, my thoughts were all over the pace. I would go on these wild journeys that covered the entire spectrum of thought from worry, to angst, to happiness, to planning, to contemplating, to analyzing, to fixing….you name it. No discipline whatsoever.

All of this chaos was magnified by the fact that I had no control over the emotions that came with these random and erratic thoughts so I would be on an emotional roller coaster all day, every day. It was tiring and really affected my quantity and quality of work and obviously, slowed down my progress in life.

Not to mention how hard it is to be fully present for family and friends when everything was such a jumbled mess inside my head.

Nothing good about any of this!

This a simple concept to understand and it’s just as easy to accomplish.

Just like anything we need to train for in life the entire thing relies solely on remembering and repetition. We need to remember to replace lazy and unproductive thinking with bold and powerful thinking.

We do this with reminders.

Reminders all day, every day for a couple of months. Reminders in the way of reminder alarms from a smartphone and written notes all over the place.

When I did it I kept it simple by making all the notes say….


That was my reminder.

The more reminders you can cram into a day the better. I set my alarms to go off every 30 minutes. I also had post it notes stuck to my monitor and on the dashboard of my car. I was serious about making the transition and it worked.

Here is what you will experience soon after starting this training exercise:

  • Increased mental strength and resilience.
  • More willpower.
  • Courage to take more high risk, high reward actions.
  • You will stop making excuses.
  • You will crush fear.
  • People will respect you more.
  • Your confidence will increase tremendously.
  • You will believe in yourself like never before.

Now for the final part of this…..what are bold and powerful thoughts?

There are a few specific thoughts that I use. Something I say to myself often is….”who cares, do better….move on.”

I also constantly ask myself…..”how is this action or person facilitating my advancement to the next level of my life?”

I remind myself over and over that my dreams are big so my thinking needs to match my dreams.

I force myself to be fast, firm, and precise with my responses to people and circumstances.

More than anything, big, bold, and powerful thinking is a mindset that needs to be adopted.

Getting in and staying in a powerful mindset will not only make you a better man but it also holds the power to move you to greater heights than you ever imagined.
